We got a lot going on in San Diego but if you were in need for a little day trip for something different, THIS is perfect. CicLAvia is LA’s BIGGEST block party. This block party is unlike any you may have gone to before though. We all know that Los Angeles, the megalopolis of the west, is re-knowned for it’s traffic-congested streets and smog. But this Sunday, October 9th, a 10.5 mile long stretch will be transformed into motor-vehicle free public space. The public is free to join in yoga, impromptu tennis matches, dodge ball games, street performances, art installations, historical walking tours and so much more.
Walkers, runners, bicyclists, skateboarders, roller skaters, you name it. All are welcome. If it is self powered, you’re good. This giant celebration of health, culture and community is sure to have something for everyone. Try a bite at a food truck, play a giant chess match, dance in the streets. The point is to get out there and MOVE. Tour Chinatown, Little Tokyo, East Hollywood. Revel in the extraordinary architecture you’ve never noticed while defensively maneuvering through the concrete jungle.
