The setting of The Crosby was welcoming and spacious for the crowd of nearly 500 attendees. Silent auction items were plentiful with opportunities to pick up signed music and surf memorabilia from Grammy Award Winning Switchfoot and surf legends such as Rob Machado & Tom Curren (both of whom were present).

The many food displays tantalized the hungry bidders with a variety of bite-sized munchables from Rimel’s, Zenbu, Bull Taco, Jake’s, Daphne’s and more. Once the guests were well-fed and the silent auction tables were closed, the migration to the stage area began. Seats filled fast and standing room only left anyone who was willing to stand on planters, sit in aisles or dance between rows. The program started with Switchfoot’s Drew Shirley, the annual MC, introducing Stand Up for Kids, the amazing organization who feeds, dresses, shelters, cares for homeless youth at their Oceanside location. After a few words from the organization’s Director, Kim Goodeve Green, the Live Auction of paradise trips and rock star experiences began and led right into an intimate live mini concert from Switchfoot with guest jammers Rob Machado & Tom Curren.

Overall, the kick off event to the BIG DAY of Switchfoot Bro-Am at Moonlight Beach was a smashing success.
