#switchfoot in partnership with #stand up for kids and the Chairs (Mia Stefanko, Robyn Denton Johnson & Kim Goodeve) sure do throw a lively party. Thursday, June 16th, a well-heeled crowd arrived at a private La Jolla Farms estate where valet quickly whisked the parade of cars off so as to allow the guests to move toward the estate’s lovely grounds for a summer fête for good. The Auction Soiree benefited Stand Up For Kids yet again, an organization providing assistance to homeless and at-risk youth across the country. (Their are 2 locations in San Diego County.)

Champagne was at the ready as attendees were greeted by servers and encouraged to peruse the silent auction items. The food was catered by many of San Diego’s favorite nosh spots such as Harney Sushi, Zenbu, Cupcake Love, The Merk and more. #drew shirley, guitarist for Switchfoot, comfortably filled the air with his humor and personality as the MC for the night. He inspired the crowd to pull out their wallets in the name of #charity for amazing experiences like a 5 day luxury Bali excursion and the Commissioner Padres Suite.
A wonderful surprise for the evening was the presentation of the band’s recently won Best Rock Gospel Album Grammy. The remainder of the evening was heralded by applause for good works done by generous people and courageous youth. Switchfoot played well into the night over La Jolla skies in preparation for the rest of the Bro-Am weekend events finally concluding appropriately with Meant To Live. With donations still being tallied, Chair Mia Stefanko, estimates the donations of $130,000 net will continue the social good of Stand Up For Kids.
