SD Bay Wine & Food Presents Baja Fire + Ice

One of my favorite annual events is the San Diego Bay Wine and Food Fest. The festival itself is always a blast and I’ve been incredibly lucky to usually be working with clients in the VIP area or shooting for the blog. I also try to ALWAYS attend the Ocean to Table luncheon which typically has been hosted by Chef Bernard Guillas at the Marine Room in La Jolla. ( He did retire this year.)

I am excited to be able to announce that I have partnered with my talented friends Chef Flor Franco and Baja wine and travel expert, Fernando Gaxiola in hosting one of the featured events of the 2021 San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival. There’s no need to travel across the border for this event because we are bringing the flavors of Baja to you.

On Wednesday, November 10th, you can enjoy all the flavors of Baja from some of the region’s biggest talents. Chefs Javier Plascencia (Finca Altozano – VDG) and Ruffo Ibarra (Oryx Capital – Tijuana) will collaborate with Chef Flor Franco at her gallery space to bring together an incredible dining experience that will be quintessential Baja.

Peruse the raw bar that will be in abundance highlighting the best of our local, fresh seafood. In pure Valle de Guadalupe style, you can expect the open-flame cooking demonstrations to kick out some of the tastiest dishes that will make you fall in love with Baja all over again.

The most beautiful of the Plascencia clan, Valeria and Lauren, will also be in attendance. Valeria Plascencia, the mixologist at Finca Altozano and her older sister Lauren, the sommelier, will entice you with their libations and knowledge while you are soothed by the live music of Spanish guitarist David de Alva.

The Valle de Guadalupe winemakers of Paoloni Wines and Shedeh Winery will showcase wines to our attendees and chat about their unique terroir and conditions that make winemaking a delicate task in the valley.

The outdoor patio will be cannabis friendly for all those who wish to partake.

Tickets are available on the San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival website.
