What’s Up w/ the Weekend?

2014 San Diego Beer Run: Access Youth Academy is hosting, of all things, a BEER RUN! Isn’t the idea to NOT spill your beer? And is beerBeerRun really known for being a catalyst of rapid and energizing movement such as running? I suppose it doesn’t matter if you are having fun. Gather a team and join the Beer Olympics Saturday morning at — oh hell no — 6:30 AM at Embarcadero Marina North Park (that’s downtown, for my North County peeps) Need more info? Here you are. Email brandi@accessyouthacademy.org $40 for the 5k & $45 for the 10k gets you an entry ticket and 2 beer tickets. You can purchase additional. 😉 Good Luck!

Uncorked: Sip on Temecula Wines and UTC Westfield Shopping Center’s bites with live music to entertain you at the swanky mall equipped with plenty of lounge seating, free wifi and resort-style palm trees. Shopping with a little drinky-poo. What every retailer hopes for! Saturday, 4pm – 7pm Tickets are $30 – $50. Get your tickets to Uncorked.

Collaboration Kitchen: Sunday afternoon is for unwinding (and recuperating). Join your fellow foodies at Catalina Offshore with Chef Jenn Felmley as she whips up 6 courses of UBER-fresh seafood dishes in classroom style presentation. Be entertained by the seafood banter between fishmonger, Tommy Gomes and Dan Nattrass (I really don’t know what Dan does besides hold up fish and heckle Tommy). This is your chance to ask and learn all about those lingering seafood questions you have while standing in front of the cases at Costco. Tickets are $50 pp or $90 a pair. Get ’em.  Bring a bottle of vino or beers to enjoy. You can find more on how to attend a Collaboration Kitchen here.
