A sustainable stage for a free concert, celebrity surf competition, benefit concert and an auction soiree…

This could only be claimed as a purely SoCal style event. From flip flops to heels, the 2011 Switchfoot Bro-Am presented by Hurley bundle of events is surely a testimony in community support for a worthy cause.

BroAm Moonlight BeachThe kick off event begins Thursday, June 16th, with an Auction Night Soiree at a private estate in La Jolla. The evening, hosted by The Keating, will showcase an array of silent and live auction items generously donated to benefit local Stand Up for Kids chapters, a national nonprofit dedicated to making a difference in the lives of at-risk, homeless, and street kids. With a small private concert to follow, tasting stations will feed the famished bidders from a bevy of choice San Diego restaurateurs: Harney Sushi • The Merk • Zenbu • Rimel’s • Pacifica Del Mar • Hill Street Café • Del Mar Rendezvous • Bull Taco • Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar • Chuao Chocolatier • Cupcake Love • Pizza Port Brewing Company • CQ Mixers.

TICKETS: $100 per person; VIP $175 per person; VIP tables of ten $1,500

The early risers are welcome Saturday, June 18th, to join the surfers and rockers hit the waves on Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, California. I can tell you from experience these few things to remember if you plan on observing. It can be wicked cold so bundle up and don’t forget the coffee to warm your hands and internals.  This year’s four-person teams will include riders representing Hurley, Billabong, Surfer Magazine, Transworld Surf, Surf Ride, Jetpilot, AKA and Shaper Studios Surfboards as well as members of SWITCHFOOT and for the 2nd year, their will also be a juniors division.

The rest of the day can be spent perusing the vendor booths, having fun with family & friends and listening to the free concert on a Sustainable Waves solar-powered stage. I suggest a nap in there somewhere if you plan on attending the benefit concert Saturday night at the Belly Up Tavern.

More details about the times and schedules for the 18th to come shortly. Keep a close eye on the WEBSITE for updates… http://www.switchfoot.com/c/bro-am.
