The General Store – A Chef’s Dream in North Park

A new store has opened in North Park that is chock full of gear for the seasoned and wannabe chefs of San Diego. The shiny, new retail shop has wiped away the remnants of what was once the F Street storefront.  The General Store opened with a lively grand opening with invitations sent out to all our familiar chef faces.

Hanis Cavin brought out the Carnitas Snack Shack food truck for the open reception which, as always, was well received by the crowds of people stuffing tacos and poutine into their faces. The ching ching of glasses chimed through the air signaling the joy that came from Chef’s Roll bringing in Robert Hall wines for the night. Dark, sultry photos were taken by the incredibly talented Josue Castro —- photography artist of the great chefs of our region. There was even personal appearances from Master Chef’s Graham Elliot  & local Master Chef Jr. cheftestant, Nathan Odom.

The store was filled with the masses of San Diego’s great culinary talent and community. A store such as The General Store is a first of its kind in San Diego as far as I know and it’s pretty swaggy. If you know of any others, please let me know but in the mean time, put this pin on your map and visit. You might just find something that inspires you.
