Each year a wonderful group of ladies, the #beach and country guild, pulls together a fabulous event specifically to raise funds to assist #united cerebral palsy of San Diego with educational aids and toys for their community and to continue the plethora of programs for the families that live day to day with this disease. During the 42 years of the event’s history, Día Del Sol has grown from a few Rancho Santa Fe ladies playing tennis and having lunch to a full runway fashion show and private estate tour at one of the many luxurious residences in the Ranch. This year the event again underwent another transition, to the “Tuscan Estate” of the Grand Del Mar. The event was stunning and the warm sun came out to greet the attendees in a lavish setting.
The silent and live auction were spectacularly popular and prosperous. The SeaDream Yacht excursion (sold twice) came in at a whopping $23,000 while a stay at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast raised $5,100 for United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego.
“We were so pleased with the Beach and Country Guild Committee and community partners who make the Día Del Sol such a spectacular event each year. We have been blessed with the generosity of many who understand the need to continue supporting the services and programs provided by United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego. The families are so grateful and the part we play in this event is a privilege we cherish.” ~ Colleen Clayton, 2011 President of Beach & Country Guild
