Your favorite pork belly king is heading to Petco Park Friday, April 7th and it’s gonna be GLORIOUS! Chef Hanis Cavin is a busy man these days.We haven’t checked in with him since our Closed Door Supper Club so we thought it would be a good time to find out what he’s been up to. I had to stop into Carnitas Snack Shack in North Park to get a few words from him and grab a bite, of course.
Starting this weekend, you can grab your triple threat or poutine, cocktails and local brews on two levels downtown at Petco Park. There will be new items on the menu that have been created for the baseball fans and we can’t wait to try them. Look for them in sections 128 and 228.
Getting into Petco Park is the cherry on top after five years of building Carnitas Snack Shack. We’re really excited to represent our city. ~ Hanis Cavin, Chef/Owner
While in North Park at the original location (where you can find Chef Hanis on the line most days), I asked about the special of the month and what a good idea that was! “The Nate”, Carnitas’ special version of the BLT that includes pork belly and an ooey, gooey, fried egg on brioche was so tasty. It could have fed several people as with most menu items at Carnitas Snack Shack. If you are around the North Park location this month and you enjoy kitchen sink dishes, this one is hard to beat but come with friends and an appetite. Sharing is caring!
On Friday, April 7th, the Center for Community Solutions will present High Tea for their 18th Annual fund raiser to support the mission of ending relationship and sexual violence in San Diego county.
The event will feature not only a champagne greeting reception but also a VIP reception after the program. For more info see the event info on our calendar here.
