On June 6th, atop a crest in La Jolla at the private estate of Joan Waitt, Promises2Kids will present the annual Dream On Gala to create brighter futures for San Diego County’s foster youth. Last year Promises2Kids cared for 1800+ foster children at their facility, the Polinsky Children’s Center, provided monthly outings that brought together foster family siblings who had been separated and provided higher education scholarships to more than 400 youth.
This year’s event hosts a live private concert under the stars by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees, Cheap Trick. The 2016 Dream On Concert Gala Chairs, Charo Garcia-Guerra, Abeer Hage, Deborah Marengo, Joan Waitt, and May Zawaideh invite you to join them for this eventful evening for good.
The gala begins at 5:00pm with a VIP reception and an exclusive Meet & Greet opportunity with Cheap Trick. The main event is 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Gala attendees will enjoy an elegant sit down dinner provided by Jeffrey Strauss of Pamplemousse Grille, artfully crafted cocktails, and live auction, followed by a full-stage, private concert performance by Cheap Trick.
A Premiere Table for 10 is $10,000, a VIP table for 10 is $6,000 or $600 per person, and a general table is $4,500 or $450 per person. To purchase a table, email Merry@Promises2Kids.org.
A.B. and Jessie Polinsky Children’s Center: An emergency shelter for children who are removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect, this facility protects and cares for more than 1,800 children a year.
Camp Connect: A program that reunites sisters and brothers who are separated in the foster care system through a four-day, residential summer camp and 10 additional day events throughout the year.
Foster Funds: Foster children often feel alone and isolated and may go without simple pleasures of childhood such as birthday gifts, sports uniforms or a musical instrument. Promises2Kids has special funds set up to support these needs not met through typical funding.
Guardian Scholars: A program that, beginning in high school with Junior Guardian Scholars, works with foster youth to ensure they graduate from high school, advance to college, and complete their higher education with the help of our scholarship program.
