A Night at the Speakeasy Rumbles Into Town in Vintage Class Nov. 8th
March of Dimes is about all babies – they are the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health, dedicated to improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. There are 4 million babies born in the United State each year, giving us 4 million reasons behind our urgent mission. Every day this mission is carried out through research, advocacy, community services and education.
In San Diego, over 45,000 babies are born each year, with 1-in-10 or 4,500 born too soon. Today, March of Dimes continues the fight against preterm birth with the ‘Healthy Babies Are Worth the Wait’ initiative. A baby is full term at 39-weeks, but more and more babies are being scheduled for delivery too soon, too early for non-medical reasons. March of Dimes is working hard to be sure that every baby is born ready, healthy and strong.

March of Dimes Signature Chefs & Master Mixologists Auction will be held on Thursday, November 8th at El Cortez; chaired by Michele Arthur and Yolanda S. Walther-Meade and helmed by Lead Chef Bernard Guillas of the Marine Room and Chef Andrew Spurgin. “A Night at the Speakeasy,” will team San Diego’s top chefs and cocktail mixologists for an evening of gourmet food tastings, fabulous prohibition-breaking libations, and special auction experiences – all in a setting that reflects the glamour and revelry of the roaring 20’s. Join hosts Monique Marvez and Ruben Galvan in mingling and dancing the night away to the sounds of “The Bastards of Belleville” all while supporting the vital work of March of Dimes!
One day, every family will know the joy of a healthy baby. Until then, there is the March of Dimes.
