North Park Main Street Association announces this year’s San Diego County Credit Union 21st Annual Festival of the Arts in North Park, a free art and live music festival that also highlights the local craft beer and food community. Being held on Saturday, May 20, this year’s event boasts extended hours for a fun-filled day of entertainment and fun, starting at 11 a.m. through to 10 p.m.

This celebration of the historic North Park neighborhood attracts more than 40,000 attendees from around San Diego. The 9 square block festival will be held along University near 30th Street, which is packed full with entertainment and activities including art, a popular array of live music and dance performances, interactive experiences and artisan items for sale. This year, delicious and locally-driven food and beverage vendors will also be spotlighted, including the Waypoint Craft Beer Block. Here, those 21 and over can experience unlimited tasters from a selection of over 30 local craft brewers, several of which are ranked as the best new breweries in San Diego.

There will be something for everyone, including the kids. Their Kids Art Block will provide kids the opportunity to participate in interactive activities designed to stimulate, inspire their imaginations and create their own masterpieces. The festival will also feature a live art element: contemporary urban artists will create unique works of art using creative every-day objects like cars, refrigerators and boom boxes. Attendees will be awe-struck by the creativity of these talented artists.

“We’ve created a unique experience that is beyond any typical arts festival”, said Angela Landsberg, Executive Director of North Park Main Street. “Open from 11am to 10pm, we have created daytime and evening experiences for every local and visitor to North Park to enjoy. Families can come for the day, music goers will revel in excitement when they see our line-up and craft beer aficionados will be pleased when they hear we’ll have two craft beer garden ticket experiences. Our neighborhood is driven by creativity and the art for viewing and sale will inspire”

Organized by the North Park Main Street Association; all proceeds benefit North Park Main Street, the non-profit organization committed to the development of the North Park Business Improvement District.
