A Venetian Masquerade in Fall; Dia Del Sol for United Cerebral Palsy
Each October the ladies of Rancho Santa Fe’s Beach and Country Guild feel the pressure! With nearly a half century of tradition for this all-volunteer organization, the expectations are great. For 46 continuous years, a group of women have spent 11 months of the year to plan their fall luncheon, Dia Del Sol, which has simply one purpose; to raise money to benefit San Diego’s Chapter of United Cerebral Palsy.
What started as a small lunch in the back yard for friends in a home in Rancho Santa Fe has grown into an annual calendar event penned into the agendas of hundreds of women. Until just a few years ago, the luncheon was still held in a beautiful, Rancho Santa Fe estate that included a home tour, the luncheon, a runway fashion show, boutique shopping and auctions. The event is now held at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in Carmel Valley and still includes all but the exclusive estate tour.
This year the theme is a Venetian Masquerade ball which should be quite the elegant affair. Tickets can be purchased starting at $150 for the luncheon.
