Trash the Gala for New Children’s Museum, Smash Hit
The creativity and ingenuity it takes to create a couture gown of sustainable, renewable and/or re-useable materials is astonishing but the design students at The Art Institute of California- San Diego did just that!
The host committee arrived in one of a kind works made of trash bags, loofahs, cork, newspaper, shopping bags and more. Attendees arrived in self made creations from cork bow ties to full gowns made of paper and the sweltering summer evening was no deterrent to the energy and fun.
Campine Catering created a dining experience like no other with an exclusive menu that was both delicious and sustainable to satisfy the palate and inner child while performance group CREW brought guests to gether with the beat of unconventional percussion “drums”. Once the dinner and auction concluded, the Dumpster Dance Party commenced with DJ Marc Thrasher from 93.3.
