Giving Scene | Zoomerang Was a HIT for the Koalas!

The 2012 RITZ Rendezvous Zoomerang was a successful and stunning evening. Guest arrived at 6pm at the Zoo entrance where it was transformed into what looked like a Hollywood movie set complete with vintage Rolls Royce, red carpet, actors appearing as star struck fans and live tv cameras interviewing attendees.

Once in the Zoo’s already lush and magical grounds, animals on harnesses walked freely through crowds with their handlers. The incredible Joan Embry spent the evening sharing her passion and knowledge about many different animals with the hundreds of guests for evening. The koala, porcupine and aardvark were showstoppers as were the armadillo, vulture, fox and various snakes and birds.

Food and drink were abundant during the silent auction reception but the party truly began once guests meandered into the seated outdoor dining and dance area. Again the glitz and glamour struck with the backdrop of the staging, sets and lights. It was seriously an evening to be relished by all. The koala habitat is well on its way to being a spectacular new home for the San Diego Zoo’s furry little friends.
