Silent Night… the Oscars are Speechless

The Artist sweeps the Academy Awards with 5 Oscars for 2012. A silent film in this LOUD era of computer graphics technology and other over-stimulating visual effects, who could have imagined that a silent film would take BEST PICTURE OF THE YEAR? Images and appearances of Jean Dujardin and Uggie the star poochie have been infiltrating our media since Cannes Film Festival and obviously paid off BIG.

French President, Nicolas Sarcozy, congratulated and hailed actor Jean Dujardin as “an immense actor” and proclaimed the triumph as “a great success for French cinema and for quality cinema”.

According to the BBC News, the win was rather predictable considering the backing of Mr. Harvey Weinstein, who purchased the distribution rights of The Artist.

The Artist is still available for viewing in local theaters.
