An Evening at Historic El Cortez for Just Like My Child

The historic El Cortez in downtown San Diego has been home to many well-known and has been host to many an event. On October 13th, the warm fall night skies were bursting with laughter, inspiring conversations and the anticipation of purpose of an evening well spent.

Just Like My Child hosted its 5th Annual Gala in the Don Room of El Cortez. Jared Cohen, the youngest person appointed to the State Department’s Policy Planning Staff and who has been recognized for advocating the use of digital tools for diplomacy and action was the guest speaker. MC and motivational speaker Joseph McClendon, III rallied the attendees with an exercise that had the room yelling “YOU FREAKIN’ ROCK!” to their neighbors.

Overall, it was another successful evening dedicated to social good. KUDOS San Diego for your generosity!

We were happy to spend an evening with a wonderful group and hearing about the great education & micro-enterprise program that Justlikemychild.com offers.
