Freedom Awards 2010Free the Slaves, an organization dedicated to bringing awareness of modern slavery in view of the general population, hosts their annual Freedom Awards Sunday, November 7th, at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. The event will kick off at 5pm with the highest honor being presented to those who fight the battle against modern day slavery. Honorees include musicians, actors, business and civic leaders, authors and activists; all who have chosen to bring awareness to the 27,000,000+ individuals who are part of the current slave trade market of the 21st century. The Freedom Rocks Concert will follow the ceremony for a celebration of hope and progress just outside the Performing Arts Center.

Sir Ken Robinson will host the Freedom Rocks Concert with live performances by Grammy Award winner Jason Mraz, Rickie Byars Beckwith & the Agape International Choir, Rocky Dawuni and String Theory. Michael Bernard Beckwith and the President of Free The Slaves, Dr. Kevin Bales will inspire us on stage along with many others.  Actors Camilla Belle (“Push”, “10,000 BC”) and Vincent Kartheiser (“Mad Men”, “Alpha Dog”) will join Meredith Artley, the managing editor of CNN.com, as presenters at this year’s awards ceremony.  There will also be the world-premiere exhibit of slave portraits by renowned photographer Lisa Kristine.  Actor and humanitarian Ryan Devlin (“Brothers & Sisters”, “Cougar Town”) will host the Freedom Rocks After Party, which will feature performances by Rocky Dawuni and Luc and The Lovingtons, along with a very special encore performance by GRAMMY Award Winner Jason Mraz. Was great to see the live stream of the Freedom Awards. You have a wonderful partner in Halogen TV. Never heard of them until this event. I really enjoyed the children singing the freedom song with Jason Mraz. It was very moving to see the Agape Choir. Thanks for offering it to the world.
