Every year ONE EVENT brings out the food lovers to be spectators at one of San Diego’s most impressive chef competitions and it all is for a great cause. Put on by the Center for Community Solutions, this particular event is on the calendars of all the chefs competing or not. You can always expect an impressive line up of chefs to flex their culinary muscle and showcase some intensely creative food presentations for the judges tables. This event always looks like an industry night with the number of professional chefs that come to watch the fierce battle for the team title.
The judging is always handled by a set of professionals that included local personalities such as Brian Malarkey, Candice Woo (Eater San Diego), Isabel Cruz, Claudia Sandoval, Chef Bernard Guillas and many more. To enliven the event Sam Zien (Sam, the Cooking Guy) has generously donated his time for 11 years to MC the interactive event, engaging the audience with his humor and familiarity with the chefs and their techniques.

San Diego’s Chef community is a bunch of fun people that love to get together and compete for yet another notch on their belts, while laughing, drinking and talking smack. In the end, the result is the same. San Diego’s food and drink scene is strong and when combined with a cause, is a force to be reckoned with.
Well Done Chefs. And Well Done Center for Community Solutions.
