For 19 years, Liam Hearne has struggled with nearly EVERY breath. Liam has Cystic Fibrosis. This young man is seriously one of the nicest and most pleasant individuals I have ever met. He truly has a lesson to share with the rest us. Liam’s words… “If life gives you lemons, make a lemon pie and send ME a piece”.
$1.3 million has been raised for research over the years from Liam Foundation. This money has been raised via various events such as straight donations, galas and their favorites, FUN activities like Wiffle Ball Tournaments, movie nights and NOW (da da da DAAAAAAAA!!!) a Lemonade STANDOFF! This event is a walk for and WITH Liam who you will walk beside. If he is gonna give it a go, then why on earth would you make any excuse. They just wanna go for a walk with friends. We are attaching the form to this post in case you would like to join. You are CERTAINLY welcome to donate or pledge to one of the many people who have decided to participate so ask around in your community and get involved. You will not be sorry. Please give a gander below for the basic info. Giving Scene will be there. Come find us and say hello at the starting line. We would love to get your photo and post it as PROOF of your support and courage to join the Liam Foundation in a STEP towards a cure.
By itself, a lemon is bitter. Add a little sugar, and it becomes a sweet treat. On May 22, 2011, our team takes its rightful place on the sand in Del Mar, to walk toward the cure (and stomp on some lemons while we are at it). We invite you to join us. If Liam can push 3 miles after having a collapsed lung, imagine how inspiring it will be to walk alongside him.
